The bigger packs take longer because they are attached to the steel plate on the back of the trackpad. You just insert the string at the top of each battery pack all the way up against the aluminum, and begin sawing/flossing down against the adhesive. I ended up using a thin nylon string to saw through the adhesive. The instructions have you going through all the trouble of taking out the logic board just so you don’t risk getting any adhesive solvent on the components. The hardest part is that the battery packs are attached with an adhesive. I replaced the battery on my late 2013 MBP myself. They have the battery fix kit and an instructional guide.
